I am writing this letter to confirm some exciting news which affects your Lytec and Practice Choice programs. It has been announced that McKesson has entered into an agreement with e-MDs to transfer these products, along with LytecMD, Medisoft, Medisoft Clinical, and Practice Partner to e-MDs. You can read the full letter sent out by McKesson HERE.
I spent a week in Atlanta earlier this month personally meeting with both the old and new senior leadership teams as well as the leadership from the investment firm that owns e-MDs, Marlin capital.
After extensive talks with the new senior management about how they operate, what they are looking to get out of the acquisition, and the roadmap they are planning for these programs, MARS believes this acquisition of the McKesson ambulatory products by e-MDs is going to be extremely good not just for the future of Lytec and Practice Choice, but also for your offices. While this channel of business was only a drop in the bucket for a company like McKesson, e-MDs is a company that focuses completely on practice management and EHR for the independent physician market nationwide. In fact, this acquisition will put e-Mds at the forefront of the market, with over 57,000 physicians nationwide.
The management at e-MDs has looked at our long needed requests for feature sets within the core PM products and told us they want to make these things happen in as quick a period of time as they can do so and still release a quality tested product. At this point we’re still waiting for everything to be official so we can announce the exciting changes that will be coming, but we have never been so excited about the future of our software, and our partnership together. Should you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to call or email us.
